You make a GREAT point about the One Minute Mystery hands. Chris and Scott never want to really talk about the hands at all! I have even given them NOTES to follow and they dont use them.

I really, really miss the discussions on the hands… Now I am sad.

Excellent show! Great fun to hear the Lord Admirals again.

(What a strange twist of fate that I chose last week to contact google to get my blog relisted after the debacle last year. I’d haven’t checked my stats in a year and would never have known about this!)

Yeah, got it. Subscribed and a good way though the interview so far. So cool to hear Brent and Sean again.

And nice job on the podcast. I haven’t been listening to poker podcasts since Lord Admiral stopped podscasting, but I’ll keep the subscription open and stay tuned during the WSOP.

Columbo, am I the only one that loved your emergency show? Admittingly, not so much as a show on itself, but how it came about and how it came to be transmitted over the intertubes. It is a part of Lord Admirals history and how many of us wouldn’t give our right mouse button for to achieve that?

As for the point about the OMM hands, I think that didn’t work at all. It may be a valid point but it went awry on two accounts:

1) When Blazman was about to play the Ante Up clip, I was completely ready to make as objective a comparison as I could. I had listened to the Lord Admiral clip carefully. What I got was Chris and Scott doing a parody of each other. It could have been done much better by picking an actual discussion, preferrably of an OMM. Unless it was about flipping listeners the bird. Which is ok with me, too much seriousness kills. Still, this was like using a Benny Hill Show chase sketch to prove British sex education is substandard.

2) At some point, one of the Admirals made a remark about being dragged into a podcast war. First praising your guests to high heavens (well deserved) and than to make them part of a gripe you have with another show or person can make your guests uneasy.

I stopped listening to this episode after this part, no matter how I love to listen to the Lord Admirals (I would listen to them even if they talked about paint drying). I had that with at least one Ante Up episode too, where Chris said something about this thing between him and Blazman. Press stop, wait for next week’s show.

Calling with 10 High

I knew loser would love that but I did it for 2 reasons 1 that I thought of at the time and one that is standard in my play but wasnt the reason I made the call however is a very crucial part of my game.

The main reason I called his bet with 10 high was that his betting line confused me and I was 99.9% sure I was beat but I wanted to see whta cards he had for his betting line. I had a ginormous chip stack and easily could afford to dust off those few chips onthe river.

The second reason is I think in the meta game it scares the holy shit out of people to know that I am capable of calling with 10 high. So they think that they may not want to bluff at a few pots that they normally would of. I raise with crap often in tournaments when i gave chips and when small stacks move in I often call if Im getting better than 2:1 and I am closing the betting heads up with the all in. I know when I see a perceived maniac it scares the hell out of me thinking that I can not bully them out of pots knowing they will call any two cards.

Anyway here were my thoughts on the hand since I heard loser scratching his head on the podcast. And yes I got 2 black eyes from the deck hitting me in the face. GG’s
